Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and volunteering in the community. The first is the Selmon relatives. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children on a Eufala farm. Also, he was one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award for being the top lineman in America. During his three-year tenure as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. In 1975, he received the third scholarship of his career and was named a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the university of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy's fourth time of service was ten-hours per week in volunteer work during college. After graduating, Lee Roy settled in Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with Tampa's Buccaneers. 3 times he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. By 1988, he became an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being among the top 10 youngsters from the United States. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at 256 pounds in college as player, commanded his team throughout 1975. In 1993, he was appointed the athletic director's assistant at the University of South Florida. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
